Drammen Springtour is a 3 week show that attracts riders from all over Europe, with classes for junior riders, young horses and international riders both professional and amateurs. Drammen springtour will have on offer 350,000 euro`s in prize money competing on excellent all weather surfaces as well as top facilities.

Drammen is a perfect show for both competitors and spectators.

Gregory Wathelet Wins Drammen Grand Prix


The grand prix at Drammen saw only four double clears, a competitive jump off saw Gregory Wathelet take the victory riding Quasi Modo Z, with a time of 37.37. Second place was Dutch rider Jur Vrieling riding Arezzo. 3rd place was British rider Douglas Duffin riding his 11 year old stallion Quidam BZ, who he had ridden so well in the Nations Cup. The final double clear was Daniel Svensson from Sweden. Great Britain also got placed in 6th with James Billington riding VDL Cartello, with a clear in the first round, he had a single fence in the jump off. Joe Whitaker with Lola also had a fence in the jump off that put him in 8th spot.

Italian Team Claim Victory In Drammen Nations Cup


Matilde Giorgia BianchiA tough Nations Cup contest in Dramen saw an Italian team claim victory with a team score of 12 faults over the two rounds, narrowly beating Norway by one fence. Team GB finished in third place place on 24 penalties.

Luca Maria Moneta riding Abaord Connerty finished both rounds with four faults, Paolo Cannizzaro with Cinnamon jumped clear in the first leg and had one fence down in the second round. The only double clear was produced by Matilde Giorgia Bianchi and Lejano, the last rider for Italy was Giacomo Bassi who finished with 17 faults.

The Norwegian team of Marie Longem, Victoria Gulliksen, Stein Endresen and Geir Gulliksen produced consistent rounds to finish in second place.

The British team consisted of Douglas Duffin riding Quidam B Z, Kerry Brennan with Wellington M, Joe Whotaker onboard Lola V and Dutch based James Billington riding VDL Cartello. Kelly Brennan was first to go for team GB, and produced a good round with the 12 year old gelding Wellington M with just one fence down. Douglas Duffin was next to go with the stallion Quidam B Z and again just had the one fence down. James Billington was Great Britains 3rd rider with VDL studs, VDL Cartello finishing the round with 8 faults, Jo Whitaker also had two fences down in the first round riding his 11 year old mare Lola V.

Great Britain went into the second round in joint 4th place. behind Italy, Sweden and Norway. Kerry Brennan`s second round resulted in 8 faults but Douglas Duffin kept team gb in the hunt with a fantastic clear round, James Billington and Jo Whitaker both had a single fence in the second round, which was enough to give them a 3rd place finish.
